Meditation for Improved Sleep

A proper night’s sleep is vital to almost all aspects of our well-being, from physical health to job performance. However, many people have trouble falling asleep or sleeping deeply. Though many turn to pills to help them sleep, recent research has shown that meditation can be as helpful.
An article in the April 2015 issue of the JAMA Internal Medicine reported on a study of the connection between meditation and sleep. The study followed 49 people who reported sleeping issues.
Half of the group completed a program of meditation and other mindful awareness techniques, while the other half was given other strategies. At the end of the study, the group that practiced meditation and mindfulness reported significantly better sleep.
